Foodborne pathogens are estimated to cause approximately 2.4 million cases of illness annually in the UK.
To address this challenge, AMPED PCR has developed a high-performance multiplex qPCR assay targeting four of the most significant foodborne pathogens:
Salmonella · Bacillus cereus · Listeria · Campylobacter
The assay has been validated as a 4-plex, with a demonstrated limit of detection of <10 target molecules per pathogen, and includes a human gDNA Internal Extraction Control (IEC) to confirm extraction success and detect inhibition across the full workflow.
Each assay has been designed and validated to operate both as part of the multiplex panel and as an individual assay, ensuring no cross-talk, signal interference, or false positives when combined.
For users requiring greater flexibility, each pathogen assay is also available as a singleplex RUO kit (£495 per assay).
Singleplex kits include the same human gDNA IEC as the multiplex panel, allowing laboratories to select only the pathogens relevant to their pipeline while retaining full workflow control and confidence in performance.
All assays are validated as combinatorially compatible, enabling straightforward progression from singleplex evaluation to multiplex deployment without re-optimisation.
